MUSIC
SUBMISSION:
It
is best if you submit your music on Compact Disc. If D.E.S.
edits from a CD, and records your new edited master to
a CD, it will sound EXACTLY like the original CD,with
no added hiss or distortion, just edited. PLUS, you can
depend that it will play back at exactly the same speed
no matter where you play it.
If
you do submit your music on CD, the easiest thing to do
is to indicate your in and out points by the minutes and
seconds readout on your CD player. For instance; "Start
at 0:00 through 0:45, cut to 1:45 through 2:20, cut to
3:53 to the end."
It is possible to do this with CD because, unlike cassette,
every counter on every CD player will read the same.
Of
course, you can bring your music in on cassette or vinyl
records as well.
And
yes, we can actually read scales at Digital Editing
Services (yes, we've learned to count to eight!) and
you can bring your edits in this way if you prefer.
TIP: It's much easier if you indicate the beginning
of verses, choruses, instrumentals etc. on your scale
along with the occasional lyric as a sign post.
If
you are going to attend the editing session, you can also
just give our editor the in & out points verbally
as the music loads into the digital workstation.
Your
music should be sent to:
